I got a freaky old lady named Cocaine Katie who embroiders all my jeans...
Man, YouTube is a sweet webiste. Wanna know why? Because they have Dr. Hook music videos for "Cover of a Rolling Stone" and "Sylvia's Mother."

For those of you who don't know, Dr. Hook is a terrible, terrible band. More specifically they were a soft rock-country band who played love ballads. Here's the punchline-- they were all incredibly grungy and one of them had an eye patch. Also, the title of their second album was "Sloppy Seconds." Pretty much the funniest band I've ever seen or heard. They somehow managed to write one of the coolest songs ever, "Cover of a Rolling Stone," although the music video doesn't really do it all that much justice. "Sylvia's Mother" is one of the corniest songs ever recorded, quite similar to most of their other stuff. Dave named his bong after it too. Watch these videos anyways, you won't regret it.

Alex found this picture, and I thought it was pretty damn funny. It looks like once again Dylan is pissed off at the fact that he's Jewish, so he straightened his hair and died it blonde.

I've got the fever down in my pocket
Blonde on Blonde is pretty much the greatest album ever, and no one can convince me otherwise. Well, maybe Dr. Hook's greatest hits. And for the record, fuck Don Mclean. American Pie is an awful song no matter how many people like it.

I stepped on the scale for the first time in months yesterday. Then I laughed pretty hard. I weigh a wopping 126 lbs. I've weighed that much since like 10th or 11th grade. The only logical explaination I could come up with is that I have a tapeworm or something. Maybe I'll eat a bacon sammich or something.

I think I'll probably go see Dickie Betts this Saturday, even though he kinda blew last time I saw him. Oh well, it's free, and the Allman Brothers are a pretty sweet band, so I might as well. Anyone else up for going?

I don't really know why I updated this thing, I'm not a big fan of it. I guess there's not much better to do when you gotta get up at 6:30 in the morning for a 10 hour work day. Should be fun.

"If you don't like my potatoes, please don't dig up my vine"
So yeah, in a little while Dave and I are taking off for Schenectady to see Arlo Guthrie in concert. After that we're gonna be camping in some random spot Dave's dad found for us. It'll be good times, and we'll probably get all sorts of fucked up. Who knows, maybe we'll hook up with some hot mamas from the Arlo concert... Although I guess they're more likely to be grandmamas.

So wish us luck. I think we're gonna need it. I hope it doesn't rain or anything, that would kinda suck, but we could deal. We also have Alex Durie on speed dial in case we need someone to spring us out of the clink.

Alright, I have tons of shit to do before we take off. And even more to do when we get back. Peace.

I have a 30% off coupon for Borders that I have to use by Thursday. Should I get: a) The Velvet Underground- VU, b) John Cale (The bass and viola player from the Velvet Underground)- Fear, c) Patti Smith- Easter, d) The Slackers- Peculiar, e) The Faces- Oolala, f) Bob Dylan- Biograph, or g)Keep dreaming, cuz there's no chance the store has any of this shit. If you have any sort of input, please let me know. I really have no clue which to get. They're probably not gonna end up having any of this stuff. Maybe the faces album, but that's about my only shot.

Hmm, what else is new?
- I started bowling today. We just kinda go and bowl 2 games and then leave. The instructor is this funny short, old, crazy italian guy. And this chick I was bowling with sucked pretty hard the first game, and got a 56, then the next game got 4 strikes in a row. I couldn't fucking believe it.
- Tonight I gues my RA's threw a root beer pong tournament, and gave out six packs of IBC to the winners. And for St. Patrick's day my RA had his children make "root" beer mug door decorations out of construction paper. How terrible is that?
- Genesee Red Lager has got to be the greatest beer ever. I kid you not. It's the same price as Keystone and Busch Light and all that other crappy stuff, only it tastes like heaven. It would appear as if my dad and I are the only people on this planet who think so, though.
- I'm gonna try becoming a DJ for the RIT radio station. I think it's gonna be a long, annoying process before I can get on the air, but I'm gonna at least check it out. I'm already thinking of cool stuff I could do on a show too. I have this idea where I could do something like the 5 degrees of Kevin Bacon, only with musical artists. I would play the 5 tracks in a sequence which would lead you from someone like Lou Reed to a band like Santana, and I'd give a quick explaination of how the songs and artists relate to one another. Just a crazy idea of mine.

Alright, time to get crackalackin on the hw. Later.

"I think everybody likes motorcycles to some degree"
So yeah... apparently when I get to like 12 beers I become a 14 year old girl... Woops.

For the most part my St. Patrick's day was pretty awesome. I drank a whole lot and got to hang out with some cool people. It just kinda went south when I got back to RIT around 2 or so, and people were pricks. It's just kinda disappointing when you realize that the people you've been hanging out with for most of the school year are really just kinda crappy, lame people. Oh well. Making that post was without a doubt the most shameless, emo thing I've ever done though. I kinda get a kick out of how badly I fucked it up, and how each of my posts I got progressively more mellow, until I finally calmed down. My typing skills were surprisingly good though.

I just started the new quarter here at RIT, and so far classes are pretty good. My professor for Interpersonal Communications seems like a coke-head though. I think I'm gonna take bowling this quarter too. I wonder what the instructor would say if I got like a 29? It could happen. Or I could just become the best bowler this world has ever seen.

Easy Rider is a fackin' awesome movie. If you like hippies, motorcycles, drugs, or just hate rednecks, then you need to see it. And the soundtrack will rock your cock, it's pretty amazing. I was a little disappointed with Walk the Line though. It was a pretty good movie, but a lot of it didn't seem very convincing. And I really didn't think Joaquin Pheonix sounded enough like Johnny Cash. Reese Witherspoon was pretty good at June Carter, although her voice might have been a little too good. June Carter is really a little tough to listen to. And the guy who played Jerry Lee Lewis wasn't very convincing at all.

I think it would be a funny idea if someone tried to make a movie about Bob Dylan's life. Whoever did it would probably fuck it up pretty bad. I don't know of anyone who could possibly act like Dylan. Maybe Johnny Depp, but I don't think it would work, and he'd probably be too old by the time they made the movie. And I think Dylan's enough of a bastard that he would never let anyone make a film about his life.

I just looked over and Mahoney's still asleep, and he's fully clothed. In fact, he still has his jacket on. Apparently he just walked into the room and immediately passed out. What a funny kid.

Alright, I guess that's enough for now. Have a good one.

What a disgusting fucking cat
Alright, so I'm taking a break from the 20 pages of writing I have due tommorrow and I thought I'd share with you a link Alex sent me. http://www.local6.com/news/7267453/detail.html It's pretty disgusting. The cat weighs 33 pounds and eats 6 pounds of meat a day. If you think about it, that's 24 quarter pounder hamburgers daily. And here's some other pictures of fatass hysterical cats. Some of them are clearly doctored, but others are pretty funny. The last one is the best.

Happy MLKJ Day everyone. Unlike most people I had to go to school today. Fackin' RIT and their beef with celebrating national holidays. Oh well, I got to spend most of it listening to some early Bobby D and Joan Baez and studying for my midterm in Rhetoric of Race Relations tommorrow. I guess that's only appropriate. No time to get long winded now though, I have an 8 am class tommorrow, I better hit the sack. Who knows, maybe I'll even have an actual update tommorrow. Then again, maybe not. Stay tuned to find out. In the meantime, have a nice day.

hum de dum de dum
After months of having this freakin' thing I finally added some user pics. I guess it's about damn time. The first is a picture of me in my favorite sweater, although I'm a little disappointed with how the dirt road didn't come out all that well. If you really want to see it you can just look at the picture on facebook. And if you don't have facebook, suck it. Just joking, I love you anyways. Go to college though. And the other one is, of course, the album cover for Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here-- my favorite album cover all time. Handshakes, guys on fire, what more could you ask for?

I made a couple of New Years Resolutions. The first one is to learn how to ride a motorcycle. My padre has 3 bikes-- a Norton, a BSA, and a Triumph (all British bikes)-- and he said that if I learned how we could fix up the Triumph and I could have it. I think that would be pretty awesome, and I think a motorcycle would give me the mean streak I need. Hopefully I won't crash Bobby D style though and become an old bitter man. The second resolution is that I want to go to Britain this summer with Zeke. We have an uncle who's a professor at a college in London, and if we went we would be able to crash at his pad and see London for cheap. Hmm, it looks like 2006 has a lot of Britain in store for me. If I'm not careful I could end up with pale skin, a dry sense of humor, and a fondness for men dressed in women's clothing...

I guess that's it for now. Please let me know if you wanna hang out sometime this week, cuz I have been bored shitless lately. I need to get out of the house and do something fun. Well, until next time here's a Bob Dylan quote to ponder:

"Inside the museums, Infinity goes up on trial
Voices echo this is what salvation must be like after a while
But Mona Lisa musta had the highway blues
You can tell by the way she smiles
See the primitive wallflower freeze
When the jelly-faced women all sneeze
Hear the one with the mustache say, "Jeeze
I can't find my knees"
Oh, jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule
But these visions of Johanna, they make it all seem so cruel"

Happy 2006
Happy 2006 everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your 2005 as much as I did. In order to celebrate this wacky year I think I'll take a look back at the events of the year in no particular order. In 2005 I:

-Ran over a possum for the first time.
-Made a regular habit out of disrobing in front of large groups of people.
-Broke a bone for the first time.
-Took a hop, skip, and a jump over the Atlantic to visit Spain, France, Italy, Monaco, and the Vatican. Some highlights include being a designated walker for Nina and company, getting called a "New York Sissy" by some French guys under the Eiffel Tower, using a bidet, eating Italian pizza and gelato, and watching Suzanne Shields get smashed after a single glass of wine.
-Became a Bob Dylan junkie.
-In a shocking move, graduated from High School.
-Walked in on gay deaf sex for the first time.
-Pleasured your mother on countless occasions.
-In a freakish turn of events lost a pound at college. I'm still trying to figure that one out.
-Read the first books I ever really enjoyed. Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson. If you ever want to actually laugh out loud while reading a book, check either of those two out. For Fear and Loathing it might be better to watch the movie first, it's just easier to actually visualize what being on the mind boggling drugs is like. I'm sure it's much cheaper and easier than doing the actual drugs themselves. Plus it has a bald Johnny Depp. w00t
-Earned my Eagle Scout. Now all I have to do is cut my dern long hair, destroy my Jefferson Airplane albums, and register with the Republican party, and then I can be a real American.
-Partook in several illegal activities which resulted in an assortment of good and bad results.
-Spent all my money on god knows how many cds and concerts.
-Punched a man in half, but have since lost the ability to do so.
-Made some great friends, lost a few, and said "to hell with them" to even more.

All in all I'd say it was a pretty damn good year. One for the record books.

Since the conclusion of 2005 though not much has happened in the world of Luke. I witnessed for the first time a truly hammered Dave Morith, and my muffler fell off at 1:30 in the morning on the way home from the New Year's celebration. Other than that not much worth noting has happened. Well, I suppose there was the explosive diarrhea, but we won't go there right now.

Happy belated New Year everyone, and until next time, here's a quote to leave you with:
"I'd hate to advocate the abuse of drugs, alcohol, or violence to anyone-- but they've always worked for me." Hunter S. Thompson

Feliz Navidad
Merry Christmas all you crazy cats out there. I hope you're all enjoying your X-Mas, I know I am. My sister woke me up at like 7:30ish so that we could all open our presents. The Auburn clan raked in plenty of cool music as usual. Just some of the cool loot we got was the new The Band 6-disc box set, "The Stones' Exile on Main St.", a live Hot Tuna cd, Bruce Springstein's "The Wild, The Innocent & the E Street Shuffle," the soundtrack to "The Last Walt," a best of Marc Bolan and T Rex, the Nuggets compilations(all early psychedelic and garage band stuff), some John Prine, Joan Baez, 10000 Maniacs, the best of Deep Purple (which was actually a present for my sister), and the Bob Dylan scrapbook. Man, it's a good thing Zeke, Mom, Dad, and I all agree more or less on what good music is, and now we're even starting to work on Sage. I got some other stuff too, but music is always most of the presents here at the Auburn ranch. We also had a great Christmas ham dinner, and Zeke, Sage, and I all played some Christmas carols together. Oh, and my dad fixed his turntable today, which is pretty bitchin' cuz he has some damn good stuff on vinyl and a lot of it you can't really find on cd.

Here's a quick rant. I'm sick of all of this Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas bullshit. I'm a Christian, and I love me some Christmas, but I don't see the point of cramming it up the assholes of those who don't. Hey man, if I was part of the minority who didn't celebrate Christmas I wouldn't want some Bible-thumpin' right-wing nut screaming "Merry Christmas!" in my face like some kind of battle cry either. In a business place it's just common courtesy to say "Happy Holidays." If you want to say Merry Christmas to your friends and family or whatever, knock your socks off, but there's this whole alleged separation of church and state thing and it should probably be upheld in business and school settings. Whatever man, if you wanna continue to shit on minorities and such go right ahead, you won't be the only one.

Alright, I guess that's enough hating on the man and his minions for now. Does anyone know of any good New Years parties? If so, please let me know, cuz Zeke and I still haven't figured out what we're doing yet. Alright, once again, Merry Christmas everyone.

Thanksgiving is good stuff. Those who disagree can suck it.
Thanksgiving break was great. I got to hang out with a lot of good old chums who it was great to see. It's good to see that there's still plenty of cool people who haven't changed too much and are still great to hang out with. There were some shitty people too, but they're always good to have around to make fun of.

My nose has healed pretty nicely. It never fell off or anything, which is good, and it's still straight as an arrow. It turned greenish yellow for a while and looked sort of gross, but it was never too bad. And I never got really big black eyes to make me look like a raccoon, I just looked like I didn't have enough sleep for a day or two. Which is actually the opposite of what my break has really been like. I've done nothing but relax, it's been so good for a change. But that's about to change again. Although I only have 3 weeks of classes before I get another 3 weeks off. So I guess I can't really complain.

Alright, I've had about enough of writing this. Maybe I'll write more later, we'll see. I'm trying to watch the Life Aquatic. So yeah, I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving and whatnot, and it was good seeing you guys again. Toodles

So yeah, I'm pretty much an idiot

Last night was possibly the biggest example of douchebaggery I've ever pulled off in my life. I got waaaay too trashed, and then at about 3 in the morning me, big Matt, Paulie Shore, and Justin decide to go for a walk through the tunnels. But then me and Paulie Shore decided it would be fun to wrestle around a little, and in two swift moves the 5'6" kid lifts me up and plants me nose first onto a linolium floor. It hurt unbelievably, despite how drunk I was. I eventually made it back to the dorm, my nose turned purple and huge, I threw up some, and then my Joe and Brian drove me to Strong. I have a probable non-displaced nasal bone fracture, aka a broken nose. So here I sit with an inflated nose and a deflated self-esteem. So I don't plan on drinking again any time soon until I can get my shit together, and I hope to never touch gin again as long as I live.

But other than that my life has been pretty good lately. A number of chumpcicles have left RIT/my floor for good, most notably Paul, the surfer from Long Island who got mugged here in Rochester cuz he decided to walk to Genesee street from RIT. Although when he left he stole a bunch of shit from people on the floor including his roommate, and owed several people money for alcohol and such. Now he's off to Hawaii to "have more fun in life" (despite the fact that he didn't do any work anways, and he dropped out of two of his classes because they were too early in the morning for him). Last week was the final week of the quarter, and I finished all of my exams on Tuesday. I pulled straight A's and B's, which makes me happy, and I'm really looking forward to seeing old chums next week.

Alright, I guess that's enough for now. I have a busy day of job searching, book returning, and other such things tomorrow, so I guess I'll ice my nose down and then hit the hay. It doesn't even look that bad anymore, I guess I'm pretty lucky it wasn't any worse. Oh, but the incident was captured on video, so if anyone decides to visit me at RIT one of these days I can show you if you wish. Between that, the hospital bracelet, and all of the pictures people took of me, I'll have plenty of material to remind myself not to be a dickhead in the future. Toodaloo.

I think my eyes are bleeding
Man, it's been a while since I've updated and a bunch of fairly interesting stuff has happened since then. I'll guess I'll just list whatever pops into my head.

For Halloween everyone on my floor got a bag full of condoms and candy, only my roommate never gave me mine, which is somewhat disappointing. I don't really feel like asking him about it again either, cuz it just seems sort of petty and childish. I realize I probably wouldn't be putting the condom to any sort of practical use, but neither will he, and I could at least get a childish joke our two out of it. Oh, and they had STD trading cards in them too, with wacky characters such as Carlos Chlamydia and Gary Gonorrhea. Those I really want.

Yeah, Thursday night there were more crazy people doing shrooms where I live. Apparently people love me when they do shrooms, and they tell me I glow orange, as opposed to everyone else who is just blue and speaks a different language. I thought that was kind of neat.

Now for news about people on my floor. Joe and Stephanie are now going out, which has been a pretty amusing couple so far. Generally all they do is take naps together and make out. It's fun mocking them though, like the other day when we got Steph to accidentally say that he has a 5 and a half inch penis. Good times. Oh, and I guess Tex is transferring after Thanksgiving to a college in Texas. His main reasoning is that lately he's been having seasonal depression. I find that to be one lame-ass excuse, because aside from the tornado and that week of nonstop rain, it's been a damn lovely fall. Yesterday it was like 50 degrees outside, in NOVEMBER.

I think my roommate's dying of tuberculosis or something. He's been sleeping, lying around, coughing up fluid, and drinking startlingly low amounts of alcohol all weekend.

My bathroom's about to be even grosser now, because one of my suite mates Tim just became a brother in a fraternity last night, and he got paddled viciously on his bare ass. They claim it's not hazing because he was already a brother... for about 5 minutes. So now I'm going to have bare ass-flesh on the rim of my toilet. It just keeps getting grosser and grosser.

Tonight I had to work on this fucking group project for my Persuasion class for 5 hours straight. I was pissed cuz I thought we were only gonna need to work for like 2 hours tops, but instead we went on till 10:30. Yeah, I was gonna go chill with Zeke and go bowling or something, but I didn't get back til late and so we just decided to skip that. So then I drowned my pains away in a pint of Ben and Jerry's like a fat chick. The only thing missing was those shitty Cathy comics. So that more or less leads me up until now. I'd tell you more, but I don't really feel like it. I doubt you do either, cuz this post is getting fackin' long. Oh wait, one more thing. Last night I watched "The Girl Next Door." Does anyone else find it eerie how much I look like Klitsy?? If you haven't seen the movie yet, watch it, and you may just shit yourself.

A little story about the white man
My dad found this, and I thought it was pretty cool, so I thought I'd share it with you.

"You have noticed that everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same, and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where Power moves. Our tipis were round like the nest of birds, and these were always set in a circle... but white men have put us in these square boxes. It is a bad way to live, for there can be no power in a square."
-- Black Elk

That's it from me for now. Fuck you white man.

Me raking out my eyes
The following story is completely and utterly true. While I am fucked up I am not nearly creative enough to make this shit up...

Alright, so I was getting ready to go for a run around 9:30 at night and I asked my roommate Dan, "hey, do you think you'll be around when I get back, cuz I don't feel like carrying around my keys, that's just annoying." He goes "eh, probably not, I think I'm going out." So I tell him to just leave the bathroom door unlocked, and figured I'd get in to my room through there when we got back (I have a suite, so there's a little mini hallway where 3 rooms can all access the same bathroom).

So I go off to my run and when I come back I hear the shower running and I think to myself "oh, it's probably my suite mate Chaco." I didn't really feel like walking in on him, so I decided to wait. But then it was like 10 minutes later and I was getting impatient so I decided "fuck it, I'll just go in real quick."

So I walk in to the bathroom and I notice that there happened to be two pairs of pants hanging on the hook... and then I heard the voices of my gay suite mate Michael and his asian man friend having gay, hard of hearing man sex. The only thing separating me from them was a paper thin shower curtain. So I ran into my room in utter terror.

Now, I have absolutely no problem with gay people in any way. (In fact I'm sure there are many of you who wonder from time to time if I am in fact a homosexual) But why the FUCK do you have to have sex in my shower??? Jesus Christ that's grimy. Does my bathroom have no rules anymore??? First there was the infamous pubic hair incident and now this! Needless to say I did not take a shower tonight, so I'm sitting here sweaty, stinky, and itchy, ready to go to bed with god awful nightmares of gay deaf sex.

That is all for now, good night.

"I'll take you back............ when hate is love and Michael Jackson wears the other glove"
Holy shit, the David Bromberg concert was hands down the greatest concert I've been to in my life. Better than the Dropkick Murphys, The Coast to Coast Roast, Flogging Molly, or even Bob Dylan. The band was tighter than a dolphin's asshole and they were just some of the most incredible musicians I've ever seen. At one point there were just three of them pulling off the most amazing mandolin solos in recorded history all at the same time. He did some hysterical songs, some gut wrenching songs, and songs that made you want to jump up and start the most badass hootenanie ever. In February he'll be in upstate NY again with a big band which I'm sure will be even better, so anyone who shares similar interests in music to me HAS to come, no questions asked.

Other than that the weekend's been relatively uneventful. I didn't have any wild sex orgies in my dorm while my roommate was gone, which is kind of a bummer, but maybe next time. Oh and last night a bunch of us watched Amimtyville Horror til 4:30 in the morning and it scared the poop out of all of us. It wasn't even so much from the movie, but from the screams of one person watching and from the fact that one girl on my floor looks like the dead girl Jodie. Dave and Zeke know her as the Dylan hater.

I guess that's it for now. And I promise you that the pictures will come soon. It's taking me a while because the people who took the pictures went home for the weekend. Toodaloo for now.

The Wild World of Luke
So yeah, it's been another busy week for Luke. Like usual I had like 3 or so big papers to hand in. That's sort of the general trend, but luckily it looks like I'm beginning to actually get good at writing. I'm still kind of wondering why I didn't try to major in something involving math when I got a 5 on the Calc exam and have always done well with math, while I formerly ate mucho cock at writing. Meh, I guess I'll just keep rolling with this whole communications thing, and hope everything turns out fine in the end.

My roomie Mahoney's gone for the weekend, so I have my very own shag pad to myself. Since he's been gone I've done as many activities as possible completely naked, simply because I can. Being naked can make even the most mundane of tasks entertaining, from sociology to clipping your toenails, its always more fun in your birthday suit.

Oh yeah, and I started exercising this week. I feel like somewhat of a sellout, but whatever, it gives me something to do on those boring weeknights. But monday I ran for a mile and a quarter and wednesday night I ran for a mile and a half. The best part is that neither time I ran into a bench or threw up! I was pretty pumped about that.

I'm pretty fucking pumped about going to see David Bromberg tomorrow night, it should be a damn good show. I'm sure no one other than Maggie, D, and Zeke have even heard of him, but he's one hell of a blues/classic rock/bluegrass/folk artist. Plus all of our parents' crazy friends are gonna be, who are all funny beyond description. You guys can't even fathom the shit they did when they were younger, they're all probably some of the coolest people on earth.

Well, I guess that's it for now. A lot of people here at RIT are gone for the weekend, so if anyone gets the urge to see my beautiful face again, please don't hesitate to get a hold of me. I promise I'll put on clothes for you, if I really must.

P.S. Some very interesting pictures lay ahead in the near future.
